There’s been a few delays, but NoLimit City’s Legion X is finally ready to round off what has been a massively successful year for this smoking hot developer. Showpiece after showpiece has rolled off the assembly line in 2021, and you get a good taste of most of their innovative xMechanic achievements in this brutal and hard-boiled Roman warfare effort. Granted, if there are no delays this time, True Grit might be the last release we’ll see from NLC this year.

The carnage on the reels is organized in a 2-3-2-3-2 setup, with both xWays symbols and bonus rounds expending the grid. The xWays and Infectious Wilds can even combine forces in the base game, and you get 1 regular bonus round, 2 enhanced features and a top-tier Gemina bonus where the enhanced elements combine. The soundtrack is close to Ridley Scott’s ‘Gladiator’ in epicness, and the Big Win story definitely contains some “Roma Victor!” moments.

The chaos on the reels is organized in a typical Roman fashion, making it easier to grasp what’s going on than in more ‘insane’ releases like Mental.

It all comes together like clockwork, with the top-tier bonus round putting everything the game has to offer on display at the same time in a spectacular climax.

The win story is engaging and full of epicness, and we have no complaints about the 31,000x potential with a 1 in 36M hit rate. That being said, Legion X is neither the best, nor the worst, NoLimit City release this year, and the theme is neither the least, nor the most, controversial.
